Some of Oak class recently went on the MV Freedom boat out of Weymouth.  This accessible boat enabled not only ambulant students but also those in wheelchairs to access the sea.  The students enjoyed feeling the wind in their hair and on their faces.  We saw three large cruise ships anchored in Weymouth bay at close proximity before heading into Portland Harbour in search of the seal.  We didn't see the seal but the students enjoyed seeing a variety of sailing boats, cruise ships, Naval ships and the World's tallest masted sailing ship.  They listened carefully when the crew explained what the floating pontoons in the harbour were and were amazed that they had actually been used at Dunkirk during WWII.  The students engaged well with crew and enjoyed learning about the history of the Forts around the harbour, facts about cruise ships and other ships in the docks and seeing the unmanned drone ship doing laps of the Harbour.  This really was a fabulous experience for all.
