Elm Class – Mission Statement

Intent For all students in Elm Class to use their voice. The class promotes peer to peer and adult to peer communications and encourages independence wherever possible.

Implementation SLD Curriculum & MAPS Activities in Elm Class are very practical and engaging for the children and they incorporate the creative arts greatly. All lessons promote communication and independence skills – with children learning key routines (toileting, hygiene and safety etc.) for growing up.

Impact The students can make their basic wants and needs known and have developed their independency
and physical skills in order to access the next stage of learning.

Elm Class is for KS1 and KS2 pupils we focus on early skills, independence and interdependence
